Graphically Speaking – Dawn Langley’s OCA Learning Log. Student Number 510320

“Design is one of the few disciplines that is a science as well as an art. Effective, meaningful design requires intellectual, rational rigor along with the ability to elicit emotions and beliefs. Thus, designers must balance both the logic and lyricism of humanity every time they design something, a task that requires a singularly mysterious skill.” ― Debbie Millman, How to Think Like a Great Graphic Designer

This is home to my third OCA course – Graphic Design 1.

The blog features:

  • Assignments: work submitted for formal assessment by the OCA. This section includes the work produced for each assignment; tutor feedback and my responses to my tutor’s feedback
  • My Learning Log: reflections and thoughts about my learning as the course progress
  • Exercises: the results of the exercises undertaken during my course
  • Research: reflections on the work of other designers, artists, research visits, reading, and reviews etc.

Throughout my OCA courses I am also using my Pinterest Boards as a source of inspiration and a space to keep interesting work and ideas I come across.
